The Avon Sail House has been owner operated in business since 1998 on Cape Hatteras, Outer Banks, North Carolina. Located on Highway 12 at Kinnakeet Drive North-- it is the first commercial enterprise on the ocean-side as one drives into Avon from the North... look left!
The shop features exceptional windsurfing equipment for the discerning customer, and the non-discerning customer will wonder why their life just became much more FUN! The brands of equipment are that which we believe to be superior for performance, high strength-to-weight ratio, and aesthetics. We sail it; we sell it. Demos are available from the shop during the wind seasons (Spring and Fall). Gear may be purchased year-round: visit our shop in season, or contact for product to be shipped or friend delivered.

As well, the Avon Sail House is a full-service sail repair loft, including many material matches and batten repairs/replacements. Industry trained 14 years ago in the Gorge, we repair all brands, as long as they are fresh-water rinsed clean and dry upon delivery. Please note: sails for repair must be clean and dry for the most expedient service.
The Avon Sail House is in-season with the winds on Hatteras Island: Spring (late March to early June)
Fall (late September to end of November).

Likewise, for the last 8 summers in the Gorge, we have had the pleasure and education of working with former Simmer sail designer, Jason Diffin, now Goya Sails designer since 2009, with whom we have learned to pattern, build, then sail the prototypes created from mutual imput and Jason's leading-edge designs.
We are pleased to announce that we continue to work with Jason, and are bringing in his latest creations: Goya Sails. Continued communication and collaboration with Jason has done nothing but impress us all the more with the meticulous attention and detail which goes into fabricating the beautiful wings between the booms which we call sails.
